In this essay I would like to show that the concept of "the other world" plays an important role in the interpretation of The Winter's Tale. In this drama one can see the process of separating, reunion, forgiveness and the Great Chains of Being in terms of the dramatic idea at the time this play was written, and through this stream the awakening of Leontes to the Truth is realized. The essential part of his awakening is concerned with magic subjected to Nature in terms of Neo-Platonism. Magic mentioned here is lawful at this time (in this drama Paulina brings the statue back to life) and it makes people realize "the return". We can find that one of Shakespeare's charms is transporting us to the world to come and awakening us to the tension of life.
