This study is intended to seek the uses of the information provided on the World Wide Web (WWW), the most popular component of the Internet, in reading classes in Japan. The study consists of three sections. In the first section, the current perspectives of the reading processes are summarized; then, the problems of the reading lessons in Japan are analyzed regarding with the problematic reading strategies demonstrated by the Japanese EFL learners. In the second part, the characteristics of the Internet, and the information provided on the WWW are discussed with the advantages and limitations. In the final part of the discussion, useful activities are suggested to improve the reading skills of the Japanese with the adaptability of the WWW resources.
