A 66-year-old man was admitted for sigmoid colon carcinoma. He developed postoperative acute renal failure (ARF) due to septic shock caused by gram-negative bacteremia, but he was successfully treated by hemopurification combining direct hemoperfusion (DHP) and hemodialysis (HD). It is considered that this combination of methods was useful in the removal of the endotoxin of gram-negative bacteria.
