Strawberries suitable for crops in each of the four seasons were cultivated in simplified elevated beds. The sections of beds area were divided into four: the first two sections were irrigated, and the remaining two were fertilized. For the irrigation control, two methods of irrigation control were adopted: the one section was irrigated twice-daily controlled with an ordinary timer; and the other irrigation was controlled by the pF value with a pF sensor, (1.8 during the early cultivation period and 2.2 during the full-flowering period). For the fertilization method, two forms were applied : basal fertilization was applied to the entire area of the one section using a solid fertilizer of N-P-K=19.8-18.2-18.6kg/10 a (hereafter referred to as the "solid fertilizer area"); to the other section, on additional liquid fertilizer was applied, where the initial EC value of 0.6 mS/cm was increased to 1.5 mS/cm subsequent to the early flowering stage (hereafter referred to as the "liquid fertilizer area"). The cultivated weight, leaf length, number of leaves and marketable yield were all highest in the section where fertilized at regular intervals with a liquid fertilizer. Although the yield did not reach the level achieved with the method of irrigation at regular intervals, the pF section produced higher sugar level.
