Correlations between the ozone (O_3) yielding rate and the period of discharge power and gas dynamics are studied experimentally. In the ozone generation, it is important to improve discharge electric power and efficiency of utilization of the use gas (O_2). There is the basis in generation of oxygen atom (O) by the electron and the energy distribution, when the ozone generation is carried out by the discharge method. However, over injection of electric power to discharge space makes the gas temperature rise, and it brings about the destruction of formed ozone by the electron impact on the contrary. Moreover, appropriate supplies of the use gas are necessary for the effective utilization of the gas, and this fact shows the importance of the extraction characteristics of the generation ozone. In this research, the correlation of power supply method and feed gas to the system in the discharge is experimentally investigated, and it is the purpose to obtain the optimum condition between them in the ozone generation. Characteristics for the stepped electric power were measured in order to examine the response of ozone generation for the apply of the electric power. It is clear that in the step response, build-up characteristics of ozone reaction show the weak dependence for gas flow rate, and it has saturation characteristics for the flow rate. On the other hand, the falling characteristics of ozone concentration after it cut off the power has the clear dependence for the gas flow rate. Then, by repeatedly applying the power, and controlling the duty ratio, the optimum value of the ozone yield was obtained for given gas supply.
