Throughout Japan the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) has been very popular at high schools and colleges as well as in the business community. Two years ago some students at Suzuka National College of Technology began to take the TOEIC. The college has improved the students' test-taking circumstances by giving them three opportunities to take the TOEIC each year and by reducing the test fee through the Institutional Program. As a result, over 400 students took the TOEIC in May 2003. Beginning in 2001, when the first-time TOEIC test takers took, those who took the TOEIC were given an identical questionnaire after finishing each test. The students' scores and the results of the questionnaire were compared and analyzed so the college could better prepare the students for the TOEIC and thereby improve their test scores.
