Gandhiji Prem Nivas Leprosy Centre in a village in India assists the people with leprosy burden and their families, who live together in a village near Calcutta, in treatment, basic education, enlightenment toward being free from social prejudices, and vocational training in order for them to achieve self-supporting life. The Institute of Cultural Affairs Kenya trains a community health worker to disseminate to local people basic knowledge on sanitation and self-diagnosis and prevention of disease. Asian Center for Cultural Exchange, Inc. builds and maintains public toilets in cooperation with people in a slum area in Manila for improving the living conditions of the ghetto. The Association of Medical Doctors of Asia popularizes in Myanmar basic knowledge on sanitation, disease prevention and family planning through a regular meeting for women called "Health Talk", the attendance of which is necessary as a condition to borrow money in small sums through the micro finance system for better living. A Child's Trust Is Ours to Nurture, a Japanese NGO, was established and keeps a herb garden to grow traditional medicinal plants for health care of the aboriginal people living in Mt. Pinatubo in Ruzon Island in the Philippines who were forced to relocate due to the eruption of the mountain.
