The purpose of this paper is to explain the concept of SCM (Supply Chain Management) and to discuss the implementing strategy of classification methods of purchased materials, materials management of SCM for manufacturers in China. First, we describe the concept of SCM and explain the activities and systems through some cases in Japan. Second, we discuss the management strategy of material supply for manufacturing organization in China. A classification method is submitted which classifies the purchasing materials according to the importance of materials and complication of the materials supply market. Third, We study the implementing strategy in purchasing and materials management of SCM for manufacturing enterprises in China. Finally, particular implementing strategic framework will be drawn out for each class of the material based on above classification of purchasing material.
