Today's medical treatment is not completed with the conventional individual service. As for medical treatment, cooperation and collaboration with community or macro-area setting is needed. As function specialization in the medical treatment advances, a medical and health social worker's cooperation or collaboration function becomes all the more important. A social worker's role in the medical treatment is to connect users with medical institutions, community, and macrosetting. I discussed necessary resources for a medical and health social worker to promote cooperation and collaboration with the community and macro-area setting. To create confidential relationships with patients and their family, doctors and nurses, and other medical staff members, a social worker in the health service needs cooperation and collaboration. I n this paper, the importance of cooperation and collaboration was particularly emphasized.
