There is a teleplay of the subject of " I am a sardine " . That subject is interesting because what kind of contents or meaning can be hardly guessed in Japanese. There is another sentence of "I am an eel" , which has the structure looks like above, too. The two sentences have the same structure but different meanings. The problem is the different meaning interpretations and why it comes to happen like this. This paper tried to find out the reason, which causes the different understandings from the view of pragmatics and cognitive science.
