The international, social, as well as natural environment children live in is undergoing rapid transformation. In response to this reality, educational reform resolutions have focused on two new catch phrases 'the power to live' and 'breadth.' Committee reform was put into practice in 2002 that places great emphasis on a standardized number of hours of actual classroom practice required to instill a 'power to live.' This paper treats the importance of music curricula in psychological development, and on how to increase the effectiveness of such in the general curriculum. I propose an educational principle that 'a power to live' implies the psychological and social development of children, and that this can best be achieved through a focus on the origin of music, and the process of creating music.
