The offshore ophiuroids in the eastern part of the East China Sea from Kyushu to Amami-Oshima Island, Japan were collected by R/V Yoko-Maru. A total of 39 species were determined. Asteroschema ferox, Ophiopallas paradoxa, and Ophiothrix (Placophiothrix) hybrida were recorded for the first time in Japanese waters. Ophialcaea bythiaspis is reported as a new combination.
