A new species Eudrella ryukyuensis (Crustacea, Cumacea) was collected from the northern slope of Okinawa Trough, about 1500 m deep, during the survey of deep-sea benthic fauna by R/V Tansei-Maru (KH-02-3). This species closely resembles to E. hwanghaensis Hong & Park, 1999 from shallow water of the Yellow Sea. However, female specimens of the former species is easily distinguishable from the latter by (1) dorso-anterior portion of carapace bears a bundle of long hairs, (2) antennule more setose, (3) basis of first pereopod has three spines arranged in triangular position on the ventral surface, (4) second pereopod furnished with many terminal spines on dactylus, carpus much longer than merus, and (5) exopod of uropod much shorter than first segment of endopod.
