The purpose of this study was to clarify the differences of bereavement experiences and to investigate the factors related to them. The psychological influence of bereavement and death, and related coping mechanisms were analyzed. A questionnaire was ginen to 364 bereaved people. As a result, the following seven Bereavement Recognition Types were found : A. The Active Sensing, B. The Passive Sensing, C. The Neutral, D. The Ostensible Solution, E. The Distressful, F. The Escaper and G. The Griever. It was found that these types were related to sex, age, relationship, understanding of bereavement, and the items of personality development after bereavement. Finally, for those who were primary care-givers these types were related to the frequency of care, the satisfaction they experienced as care-givers, and the items of care they experienced.
