The oil mist lubrication has been used as a lubrication of bearing of high speed spindle. But the basic performance of jet patterns of oil mist are not yet investigated in detail. In this study, the jet patterns of oil mist have been photographed and examined by using a high speed CCD camera. The effects of size of tube and the diameter of fog nozzle on a jet pattern of oil mist have been experimentally investigated. The obtained results are as follows. The oil mist image is whitened with increase in the diameter of fog nozzle and the brightness of pixel shifts to the higher values. In this experiment the maximum value of pixel is almost constant until 1000mm in length of a branch tube. Furthermore they tend to shift to lower values with increase in the length of a main tube. It was found from the image of CCD camera that the jet patterns of oil mist were depended on the length of tube and the diameter of fog nozzle.
