This is a stydy on boundaries and temporary constructions, which is a sequel of Basic Research on the Spatial coristiution and the various forms of Boundaries in Japan. The most traditional festivals and ceremonies in Japan are observed on the boundaries in the outskirts of their communities, where the temporay shrines and stages are constructed. Those are not only the places of Gods, but also the places where we can feel them closely. The ancient shrines as Ise Shrine or Kasuga Shrine have been pulled down and reconstructed every definite period, the main concept of which is to keep their cleanness and eternity. This design concept and the way of cultural traditions symbolize Japanese original culture of temporary construction.
