• Exact closed-form expressions for radiation view factors for a Gemini-type configuration, a cylinder attached to the small end of a frustum of coaxial right circular cone, are obtained for the first time by using a general solution method developed by the author. With the expressions and view-factor algebra, a relevant view factor between an arbitrary finite-sized ring on the cylinder and a similar ring on the frustum is also derived in exact closed form. All of the expressions will be available for diverse practical problems such as radiation heat transfer analyses for space vehicles and protection of spacecraft surfaces from rocket exhaust plume radiation.
