Plant growth rate can be controlled by adjusting the transition between cycles of lightness and darkness, and by adjusting the quality of light. Light intensity and time also have an effect on growth rate. We investigated the effects of low-intensity light irradiation of specific frequency on the growth of rice in the paddy field. Light sources were red and green LEDs with 20Hz of frequency. We set up one test area for irradiate in July, and one test area for irradiate in August and studied the growth of rice at around 5m and 10m from the light source. A large number of one-ear grains were found in the irradiated area 10m from the red light source.
