In the present paper, a survey is carried out showing how different languages of the world describe ways of learning and studying. By way of analysing several Chinese characters related to lexemes referring to studying or learning, it is pointed out that the language takes for granted, first of all, that scietific investigations are to be based on communication. A comparison of further languages reveals that the descriptions of the ways of leaning and studying are quite similar among languages in spite of great difference of the cultural backgrounds on which they are based. The survey contretely turns out that imitating the model generally makes up the first step of learning, which then slowly takes its own shape in the course of time. Furthermore, the notion of comprehension has a great deal to do with differentiation of targets in any attested language. On the conclusion of the present paper, investigators are expected to hold on tight to the priciples of sciences dealt with in this paper.
