The development of the world economy under the secondary Pax Americana, which was based on the fluctuating exchangerate system, necessarily caused the United Satates of America, so called Key-currency nation, to fall into the large debtor nation. As a result, it brought about the economic friction between the U.S.A. and Japan as the large creditor nation. In this paper, by the examination of the next three themes, I made an analysis how this friction was compromised, concerning the external imbalance of the U.S.A. 1. From trade friction to Yen's strenghening - the 1970's 2. From the friction concerning the economic structure of Japan to Plaza accord - the 1980's 3. A dollar-weakness policy of the U.S.A - the 1990's
