• As the rapid development of scientific technology progresses, what nursing should be and how to think about nursing have changed. To be sure, it does not need to be said that the latest medicine, pharmacy and technology are extremely important. However, what nurses should not forget now is that the object of nursing is always how to deal with living human beings and hospitalization. This is an important part of their real lives for patients even though nurses are tremendously busy and have many other things to do. This philosophy, in fact, is the foundation of nursing that will support them. Nevertheless, nurses tend to forget it easily, for the philosophy of nursing proposed by Florence Nightingale is the most basic one that bears closely on the 'lives' of patients. Therefore, this thesis tried to pursue and examine nursing itself from the most important points of nursing philosophy practiced by Florence Nightingale, Christianity, and morals in order that they recognize that nursing could not be possible without this foundation of nursing and also elevate their own quality of nursing by doing so.
