• The effects of overexpression of AtEBP on in vitro shoot regeneration were investigated. Overexpression of AtEBP significantly inhibited shoot regeneration in tissue cultures of arabidopsis root segments. AtEBP is expressed in tissue culture and is induced by exogenous ethylene. These results suggest that ethylene, the production of which is induced during tissue culturing, may inhibit shoot regeneration by increasing the expression of AtEBP).
