In this paper, it is described how to design a radiation hardness, low power dissipation, CMOS 8-bit micro controller. It is designed as a core of a Distortions-Identifying System (DIS) for constructions and buildings in atomic power plants. A methodology to identify distortions by an Optical Fiber Sensor System (OFSS) has been proposed. The chip size of 8-bit micro controller has been estimated and its feasibility is reported. Moreover, radiation hardness of CMOS LSI has been considered to design transistors with longer channel width and diluted thickness of gate oxide. The 8-bit micro controller is designed by using 0.5μm CMOS design rule in which the thickness of gate oxide of transistors has been diluted down to the same value with 0.18μm CMOS process.
