• This study takes as its subject two models of commercial swimming facilities in Japan, each of which provide different services. It describes, from the viewpoint of area service, the facility provision and management process that exists within these two facilities, on a technical level. This description is dependent upon a comparative analysis of the consumers' facility-use objectives, and levels of satisfaction, in both facilities.
