A total of 128 species and 11 indeterminable species of polychaetous annelids are reported from 36 dredge and bottom trawl samples collected from Suruga Bay, of which 21 were at bathyal depths. Nine species are new to the Japanese polychaetous fauna : Aphrodita sibogae (Aphroditidae), Pareulepis malayana (Eulepethidae), Goniada annulata (Goniadidae), Leitoscoloplos pugettensis, Phylo nudus and Califia calida (Orbiniidae), Monticellina tesselata (Cirratulidae), Melinna cristata and Auchenoplax crinita (Ampharetidae), and 60 species are first recorded from Suruga Bay. The best-represented families are : Maldanidae (17 species); Syllidae (15 species); Lumbrineridae (8 species); Onuphidae and Spionidae (7 species each). A description or diagnosis is presented.
