• This is the result of our study on chrysomelid beetles of Nepal, which were collected by the National Science Museum Expedition to East Nepal in 1979. A small number of Nepalese specimens in the collection of the museum were also examined. These chrysomelid beetles excluding Alticinae were classified into 63 species. Four species are described as new to science and 12 species are recorded from Nepal for the first time. All the specimens including the holotypes are deposited in the collection of the National Science Museum, except for some duplicates kept by the authors. We wish to express our hearty thanks to the members of the expedition for their pains and kindness in collecting these specimens during laborious surveys : Dr. S. -I. UENO, Messrs. M. OWADA and M.
