We are interested in restoration of degraded signals redorded on an old acoustic media. In this paper, we argued two methods to restore the signals recorded on an expanded and narrowed magnetic tape, using digital signal processing technique. First, we investigated a signal-restoring algorithm under the following assumption : the deformed tape has a certain inclination and the deformed dimensions are measurable. As a result, given a spline function for the interlation, we found that the maximum energy error of the restored waveform to the original one was 0.1%. Secondary, although we examined a method to restore the signals, using the hiss noise on a magnetic tape, analysis of the hiss noise remains to be finished. Then, we substituted a method to use a pilot signal at 10 kHz for the hiss noise, so that we came to the conclusion that we can restore the degraded signals by using it.
