Early infartile autism used to be treated the same as mental retardation. However, recent studies have revealed that the features of early infantile autism are difficulty in personal relationship and maladjustment to envirorment. He usually shows interest strongly inclined toward a certain object. Through observation of the two cases, this study has tried to indicate how such inclination in interest develops as he grows up into adolescence.
