Surface morphology analyses using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and scanning probe microscope (SPM) are carried out, and a wettable property that decreases gradually with increasing roughness is clarified. In the surface elemental analysis by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Nitrogen incorporated in urethane resin is detected only in a hydrophilic state. Thus, the surface of the material is covered with perfluoroacrylates in a hydrophobic state and the urethane resin is exposed on the surface in a hydrophilic state. These results show that surface characteristics depend not only on the roughness, but also on exposure of the hydrophilic material on the surface.
