In this paper, we propose a method to perform digital video stabilization at decoder based on decoded parameters derived from bitstream. Our proposed method at first determines which parts of the image are reliable to estimate global motion. Textual complexity of each block, macroblock type and information for existence of transform coefficients within each block are used to determine which block should be used for global motion estimation. Once determined those blocks to be used for global motion estimation, global motion is estimated by choosing the most frequently occurred motion vector within the selected blocks according to the first step. Simulation results show that our proposed method is effective to stabilize decoded video sequences.
