• We have developed a new method to estimate the position of an electron avalanche in the proportional counter.In the counter chamber, two parallel wires are located on both sides of the anode with a slope and the charge is partitioned by these two wires.The position of the avalanche is determined from the charge ratio.The position resolution is about 2 mm full width half maximum(FWHM).
