概要

• The committee for support of the collaboration among industrial, official, academic circles was founded in 2004 to discuss a way for their collaboration in geotechnical engineering. However, we started to discuss the direction of our whole society from the standpoint that we should suggest some concrete ways for their collaboration which agree with the future vision of the society. The major problems that we are obliged to face in near future will be "Energy problems", "Environmental problems" and "Food problems". Focusing on these major problems, we are now discussing the contribution from the geotechnical engineering to these problems.
