Two Masterpieces of Titian, "Worship of Venus" and "Bacchanal of the Andrians" (both in the Prado Museum), that once decorated the 'camerino' of Alfonso I. d'Este in Ferrara, are here compared word for word with the text of Philostratos, Chapter 6. 'Erotes' and Chapter 25. 'Andrioi' from the first Book of "Eikones", that inspired Titian to reconstruct the lost, ancient wall paintings. In this way we can understand Titian's attitude to the antiquity and his interpretations as a concrete example of the Renaissance Humanism.
