Modern British theories of probability have been hardly studied from the point of view of the scientific philosophy of probability in Japan. It is no exaggeration to say that the effect of British New Realism upon the British theories of probability has not been made clear as a concrete problem. This paper aims to analyse the scientific philosophical characteristic of the Cambridge theories of probability in the first half of twentieth century. In this study, as the representatives of this British philosophical movement of probability, we should pay attention to such Cambridge men as G.E. Moore, B. Russell, J.M. Keynes, C.D. Broad, F. P. Ramsey and others. The conclusion, which especially relates to the Keynes's system of inductive arguments, elucidates a phase of British scientific philosophy of those days.
