• In this paper, the water quality of the Yahata river system was studied. Evaluation and analysis of water quality data suggested that the quality of the Yahata River has been gradually improving. The changes in water quality were shown to be mostly attributable to population fluctuations and diffusion of sewerage. We tried to explain the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) using other water quality items, and assuming a relationship with the water quality of the Yahata River, examined the water quality of the Ishiuchi River.
