1次流路の地形特性からみた黄土地形の侵蝕過程 : ソ連製10万分の1地形図を基図とする地形計測の試み

Landforms in the Loess Plateau in China are classified into three geomorphic features; the yuan which is a tableland with flat surface, the liang which is a long round ridge, and the mao which is an isolated round peak. In order to assess quantitatively the differences of erosional process among these three geomorphic features, the author measured morphometric elements of the first order streams in the following three drainage basins : "Y" characterized by yuan, "L" characterized by liang, and "M" characterized by mao. Firstly, the head-water altitude H, the junction altitude J, and the horizontal valley length l were measured. Subsequently, the altitudinal difference (h=H/J) and the average slope (tan θ=h/l) were calculated. As a result of the correlation analysis among five elements, only J showed significant negative correlation with both h and tan θ for all the three drainage basins. The pattern of the increase of h and tan θ with J decreasing on each drainage basin differed as follows : Y) a constant increase, L) an increase but with an abrupt decline in speed, and M) no significant change. These indicate that each of three drainage basins has different erosional process mentioned below when we regard the first order streams as an indicator of the macro-scale valley wall : Y) valley walls only steepen, and originally flat surfaces are left, L) valley walls retreat steepening, and originally flat surfaces are diminished, M) valley walls retreat keeping slope angle the same, and originally sloping surfaces are lowered. The author concludes that the difference of erosional process was caused by the difference in bedrock relief, loess thickness, and stratification of loess layers.
