A geomorphic surface is the metastable interface between two media such as the gas-solid, liquid-solid, and solid-solid. There are multidisciplinary theories and concepts, as symbolized by following key words, to explain physical meanings of such interfaces of various objects. This paper reviews studies on application of such theories and concepts to the objects of size from molecules to the continents. This leads to bridging from geomorphology to another disciplines. Landforms, which belong to a geomorphic species, have their specific size restriction and characteristics corresponding to their sizes. The size restriction and the size-corresponding characteristics reflect processes and the origin of landforms together with their fractal natures. Theoretical geomorphologists, who deeply understand processes and origins of geomorphic species, should have potentiality to contribute to progressing studies of general interface problems by providing ideas from their own field.
