Macronychia navigatrix MEIJERE, 1910, is referred to Senotainia MACQUART, 1846 comb. n. and shown to be a valid senior synonym of Chaetometopia cinerea MALLOCH, 1930, syn. n. and Senotainia nepalica ROHDENDORF, 1966, syn. n. A lectotype is designated for S. navigatrix and extensive distributional data are provided. The phylogenetic relationship of S. navigatrix to other species of Senotainia is discussed.
