Coccinula crotchi showed a univoltine life cycle in Hokkaido, and the adults depended not only on small hemipterans as aphids but also on pollens of various flowers such as Taraxacum officinale, Rumex acetosella, and Plantago lanceolata. Ratio of adults observed on flowers was larger in post-hibernating adults (66%) than in newly emerged adults (29%). Although the larvae were also found occasionally on flowers, they could not develop at all with pollen food.
