• Four new species and a new subspecies belonging to the genus Periphyllus, viz., P. brevisetosus sp. nov., P. hokkaidensis sp. nov., P. takahashii sp. nov., P. tokyoensis sp. nov. and P. viridis osugiensis ssp. nov. are described. A key to the Japanese species of the genus is presented.
