Using the solid medium on which C. albicans grows in the mycelial form by the candle method, it was obsewed that the addition of vitamins (B_<12>, inositol, biotin, folic acid, L_1,E, P) to the medium was effective for growth in the mycelial form in the air. Vitamins which were effective as replacement substances of bicarbonate contained in the liquid medium for germ tube formation were pantothenic acid, B_<12>, E, choline, riboflavin, P and isositol. Some vitamins (pantothenic acid, B_<12>, E, choline) stimulated the uptake of labelled bicarbonate into the whole cells with germ tubes, but the other vitamins (riboflavin, P, inositol) did not.
