Based on a series of questionnaires performed for 80 non-medical workers, the author, who is a dental student, considered the problems in the layout and comprehension for informed consent forms to the general public. The appropriate content of the informed consent form was understood by only 22.5% of the enrolled persons, which demonstrated that the real sense of the informed consent has not been sufficiently spread to the general public. The enforcement of the informed consent has been required by almost all of the persons, yet they are not necessarily satisfied by the current form of the informed consent. Both an improvement of the quality of informed consent performed by the physicians and medical education to the civilian are mandatory.
