A solution of the problem of one dimensional nonlinear consolidation under constant rate of loading is presented. The computed results of excess pore pressure in the sample are compared with those obtained by the liner theory. A new dimensionless parameter is shown to influence the magnitude of difference between linear and nonlinear results.
