In regard to slope planting works in Japan, construction methods using mainly chemical fertilizer have some problems in the ecological system of the surrounding area and in maintenance. Moreover, foreign varieties used in most slopes also cause another problem. To solve those problems, a slope planting method has been developed which uses microorganism as the planting base material. This method ensures the growth of local weeds and trees, and it requires no fertilization causing little difficulty in maintenance. The vegetation-injected mat and seed-spray methods are very often employed.
