• It is necessary to obtain existing terrain or as-built data out of any constructed objects such as building, dam tunnel in use for maintenance system accurately and in a short time. In the past, survey equipment like Total Station or GPS has been used to obtain such 3D data. But those are manually used to get a point (X,Y,Z) on a position of any objects and it is time consuming in the field. As an alternative, 3D laser scanner is getting popular to acquire large volume of 3D data including RGB data out of terrain or any objects preciously and quickly.
