"Akiyoshi plateau" of Yamaguchi Prefecture is a distribution region of the limestone known in the greatest karst plateau in Japan. Limestone has the cave that originates in the character of calcium carbonate that is the principal ingredient melts easily to water. In the bridge construction on this site, the paling foundation which is founded by limestone is selected. Therefore, the presence of the cave in the tip part of the paling is an important engineering problem. In this paper, the result of selecting the support layer considering the geological features characteristic of limestone is shown.
