• The relationship between oxygen stoichiometry and transition temperature (T_c) has been studied in Ba_<2-x>Ln_<1+x>Cu_3O_<7-δ> (Ln=Sm, Eu). T_c decreases with increase of x and oxygen content. Furthermore, T_c does not show any clear dependence on the average copper valence estimated from the oxygen content.
