We have previously reported that highly accurate displacement estimation in the lateral direction is possible using the complex one-bit correlational method, and that the first practical application of dynamic distortion diagnosis has been realized. In this paper, in order to clarify displacement estimation performance of the complex one-bit correlational method, we report that the stepwise displacement response characteristics in the lateral direction were estimated using measured displacement data. Furthermore, the relationship between the point spread function (PSF) of the measurement system and the estimation capacity was obtained by computer simulation.
