This paper presents a new approach to the numerical solution of the two-dimensional Helmholtz equation in the presence of many aligned cylindrical boundaries. The method is accurate and efficient and, for a fixed computational domain, the computational time is essentially independent of the number of cylinders, so that the method is effcient for large-scale simulations. As an example, we shall demonstrate numerical results of multiple acoustic scattering by a number of cylinders in a two-dimensional channel.
