• In the lower GeO_2 content region, fabrication of GeO_2-doped silica glasses by sol-get method was investigated with emphasis on the influence of GeO_2 crystal generation. The generation of GeO_2 crystal depends on the ammonia water content in the sol solution. The conversion efficiency of Ge alkoxide is related to the content of GeO_2 crystals.
